2024

Slack is a messaging platform that streamlines organizational communication by replacing traditional email. In June 2023, Slack partnered with Greyduck to create product marketing videos showcasing their updated User Interface (UI) and new features. Additionally, our studio redesigned and reanimated dozens of existing explainer videos and GIFs to reflect the updated UI and style across Slack’s website and YouTube channel.

I collaborated with Slack’s design and product teams to templatize the new abstract UI, ensuring consistency across all videos and GIFs while creating an asset library for use by Slack, Greyduck, and other vendors. I also expanded the simplified brand aesthetic into video content, designing storyboards, layouts, and custom illustrative elements to bring the new look to life.

Over the course of two years working with Slack, I designed graphics for over 50 videos. My favorite part of the process was diving deep into the SaaS platform, distilling its core functions, and crafting clear, concise messaging to communicate effectively with Slack’s audience—whether through 5-second GIFs or 90-second explainer videos. Visual storytelling within Slack’s branding became second nature, allowing me to create content that was both engaging and true to their identity.
